Ford's extreme F-150 Raptor was the undisputed king of off-roading for more than ten years
The TRX package for the 1500-class pickup truck was then introduced by Ram in 2020,
quickly took the top spot thanks to its supercharged Hellcat V8 engine that produces 702 horsepower.
Ford had to react, of course, but first it introduced the Raptor package for the new Bronco,
which added standard 37-inch tyres and a scaled-down version of the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6
Now for 2023, Ford finally dropped a proper response to the TRX by borrowing
5.2-liter V-8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500, and those 37-inch tires from the Bronco Raptor.
The new model is called the Raptor R, and while this new truck runs well north of $100,000,
